involves the empirical testing of economic hypotheses using, primarily, linear regression. The results can be used to determine how closely theory corresponds to observed behavior, to investigate which theories best explain behavior and to forecast what future conditions may produce. This course is designed to introduce students to basic econometric techniques. Possible remedies to the most frequently encountered problems will also be discussed.
