This course examines main philosphical concerns of the Middle Ages and the connections and dialogue that exist between works of this period and the contemporary world. Through close analyses of representative works, the course explores the roles played by identity, representation, and desire in the construction and reconstruction of the aesthetic of the self as well as the representation of the human in relation with the divine. 3 hours lecture.
