College: COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS Department: MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES Credits: 4.00 Concepts in Science. Special fee. This is a one-semester physical science course with laboratory designed for those students not majoring in science areas. This course will introduce the student to methods of science while teaching some principles of physical science and some of their applications. Topics discussed include: energy and motion; heat, energy and solar heating; sound and noise; light, lenses and fiber optics. Meets the 1983 General Education Requirement (GER) - Natural/Physical Science, Laboratory or Non-Laboratory Science. 3 hours lecture, 2 hours lab.
