An introductory course in the prevention and basic care of selected injuries and sudden illness in athletes. Students receive training and certification in sport safety including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first aid, and use of an automated external defibrillation device. They also develop strategies for minimizing risk of athletes in a sport setting. 3 hours lecture.
