College: COLLEGE OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCE Department: COMMUNICATION SCIENCES & DISORDERS Credits: 3.00 Environmental Noise Hazards and Controls. The essential aspects of the acoustic properties of sound and of the anatomy and physiology of the human auditory system will be presented. The specific properties of noise and noise generators will also be presented. The effects of noise on physiology and on various aspects of behavior will be discussed. Stress will be placed on current methods of noise control and hearing conservation. 3 hours lecture.
