Prerequisites: Graduate major in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology concentration. Skill in use of phonetics in recognizing and distinguishing acceptable English speech sounds, deviant speech sounds, regional variations in standards of American English and sounds in foreign languages. Stress, phrasing and intonation patterns used in speaking English, with some analysis of these elements in other languages. 3 hours lecture.
