Prerequisites: ANTH 201 or ANTH 202 or ANTH 210 or ANTH 230 or ANTH 240 or ANTH 270 or departmental approval. An overview of nonstatistical research methods commonly used in anthropology, including participant observation, interviewing, questionnaire design, cultural domain analysis, ethnographic decision tree analysis, and network analysis. Emphasis on practical experience in applying these methods to research and applied problems. 3 hours lecture.
