College: COLLEGE OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCE Department: ANTHROPOLOGY Credits: 3.00 American Folk Culture. This course introduces students to the anthropological literature concerning American oral (folklore) and material (folklife) folk culture. Students are exposed to the different folk traditions as well as analytical theory concerning them, in the first half of the course. The second half is devoted to student presentation and analysis of material folk culture. Meets the 1983 General Education Requirement (GER) - Social Science, Topic Course. 3 hours lecture.
