3 hours. This course is designed with an emphasis on mathematical applications and models. The purpose of the course is to teach the basic techniques of finite mathematics that are needed in undergraduate courses in economics, business, sociology, political science, psychology, and biology. Topics include linear functions and equations, systems of linear equations and matrices, linear programming, sets and counting techniques, Markov chains, and game theory. Prerequisite: MA 145 or equivalent. Fall. Spring.
