3 hours. Traditionally, museums were designed to store historically significant collections and to conduct research, but little effort was made in educational programming. Today, museums spend nearly half of their resources and time developing and conducting education and outreach programs. This class will discuss this expanding field of museology, highlighting various educational programs and methods from across the country. This class provides an alternative career opportunity for education majors. Prerequisites: AY 301 or Permission of Instructor. Spring.
