CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION: Supervised learning experience at affiliated facilities designed to give the student the opportunity to practice skills learned from the classroom and application courses with health information projects that give thestudentsexpertiseintechnicalfunctions (e.g. ICD-9-CM coding and DRG assignment, CPT coding, record management in alternate care facilities quality improvement and utilization management, cancer registries, health statistics).
