An examination of the agents and channels of political socialization, such as the family, schools and colleges, youth subcultures, peers, media, and life experiences from childhood to early adulthood. The impact of various forms of political socialization on conventional and unconventional political attitudes, opinions, and activities. Special problems of political socialization such as generational conflict; sexual differences in political orientations; impact of childhood learning on leaders and followers; and national, class, and other group differences. PREREQ: POL 166 for POL 326.
