4 hours (2 lecture, 2 lab), 3 credits. Overview of operating systems (O.S.)from both a theoretical and a systems manager point of view. Process management and multitasking, memory management, resource management, file management, I/O management, command interpreter/shell, and shell scripts will be covered. Large networked systems will be discussed from a systems point of view. PREREQ: CIS 211, 212, and 166.
