Topics chosen from polynomial approximation and interpolation, orthogonal polynomials, finite difference methods, splines, and least square approximations; numerical differentiation and integration; numerical solutions of equations by iterative methods and matrix inversion; eigenvalue computations; sparse matrix methods. PREREQ: CMP 326 and MAT 226 and MAT 313.
