3 hours, 3 credits. May be taken more than once, with Departmental approval, if subject matter is different. Directed independent study affords an opportunity for the student who wishes to undertake a well-defined research project. While the student conducts work under the guidance of a facultymember chosen by the student, the project is carried out in an independent manner, without regular class meetings. PREREQ: A reading knowledge of Spanish.
