(Intended for students majoring in Biochemistry or Biology.)An introduction to the principles of thermodynamics, kinetics, and molecular structure fundamental to the understanding of living systems. Applications of principles will include such topics as physical properties of proteins and nucleic acids, membrane transport, diffusion, enzyme kinetics, x-ray diffraction, and molecular spectroscopy. PREREQ: CHE 168-169, MAT 175, and PHY 166. PRE- or COREQ: MAT 176 and PHY 167.
