Basic analyses of the life of microorganisms, with emphasis on microbial cellular structure, metabolic pathways, and microbial growth and control of growth; microbial genetics and gene expression; and microbial diversity. The impact of microbial growth on humans and the environment will be discussed in detail. PREREQ: CHE 168-169.
