Students develop skills in editing copy for newspapers and magazines. Focus is on copy editing for grammar, syntax, style, clarity, spelling, word usage, fairness and balance, conciseness, and accuracy. Students also learn to write effective headlines and cutlines, do effective design and layout of tabloid and broadcast pages, and create effective information graphics and photo features. Prerequisite: COJO 2100.
