Examination of art, architecture, religion and ritual at selected medieval abbeys and cathedrals in France, England and Italy from the late 12th to early 14th centuries. Sites include the Abbey of St. Denis, Canterbury Cathedral, Chartres Cathedral, Salisbury Cathedral, the Sainte-Chapelle, Westminster Abbey, the Cathedral of Siena, and the Cathedral of Florence.
