A lecture/ seminar course designed to introduce the student to the history, development and basic styles of Christian hymns. The course is not structured toward or restricted to any particular denomination. This course is designed for students interested in working in church music as organists, pianists, choir directors, organist-choirmasters, ministers of music, choir singers or in any other aspect of church music. Keyboard skills are helpful, but not essential.
