Alecture/seminar course designed to introduce the student to the history of church music from biblical times to the present, including contemporary trends in church music. The course is not structured toward or restricted to any particular denomination and will include the music of both Christian and Judaic traditions. This course is designed for students interested in working in church music, as organists, organist-choirmasters, choir directors, ministers of music, and in other aspects of music in corporate worship. Prerequisite: 1150 or consent of instructor.
