A comprehensive, in-depth study of specific First Amendment cases, including U.S. Supreme Court, Federal and Louisiana decisions. Discussion of the individual holdings and rationale of the Courts in rendering their decision on FirstAmendment issues. Course creates ability to identify specific issues germane to the media while developing a workable knowledge of the judicial process. Prerequisite: JOUR 3040 or consent of instructor.
