Survey of European (including British) film by French, English, German, and Spanish directors in the original languages with English subtitles except for the English language films. Selected films will be organized around social themes, which will then be viewed from different national perspectives. The common discussion section on one day will be conducted in English to be accessible to students of all languages; the second discussion section will be conducted in English. Students are required to attend film viewings in a separate lab section. Prerequisite: SPA 302 or consent of instructor.
