Introduction to the study of women's issues in contemporary society. The course will include an overview of the history of the feminist movement and its role in human liberation. The socialization of women and their status in relationship to economic, social and political institutions will be emphasized. Particular attention will be given to these issues as they relate to women of color, older women and lesbian women. Prerequisite: junior standing or consent of instructor. (Same as SOC 355.)
