This course introduces students to the history, the development, and the structure of Musical Theatre. Beginning with a brief survey of European Opera and Operetta, the course charts the birth of the Musical as a uniquely American contribution to the world of art. Instructional materials include scripts, sound recordings, and video recordings. This course is writing-intensive. Prerequisites & Notes Prerequisites are THA 1040 and THA 1041. Credits: 3
