This course introduces students to the landmark European playwrights who redefined dramatic writing in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Instruction focuses on the evolution of dramatic forms resulting from response and rebellion. Course material features works by Ibsen, Chekhov, Brecht, Strindberg, and Beckett among others. This course is writing-intensive. Prerequisites & Notes Prerequisites are THA 1040 and THA 1041. This course is offered every even-numbered fall. Credits: 3
