This is the first of a two-course sequence in conducting psychological research. After a review of the literature relevant to a contemporary psychological theory or model, the student develops a problem statement, selects a methodology, and writes a proposal for a research project that will be completed the following semester in PSY 4922 Research Practicum. Group discussions among students developing proposals and practicum students who are conducting research enables beginning students to clarify problem statements and develop appropriate research strategies. This course is required of majors in the Psychology concentration and is limited to majors fully accepted into the psychology major. Prerequisites & Notes The prerequisites are PSY 2411, MAT 2021, and senior standing. Credits: 3
