This first course in atmospheric dynamics utilizes physics and calculus. The instruction includes such topics as equation of motion on a rotating Earth, balanced flow, kinematics, circulation theorem, conservation of absolute angular momentum, mass continuity, vorticity equation, and wind-pressure imbalance. Prerequisites & Notes The prerequisites are MET 2020, MAT 2543, and PHY 2062. The co-requisite is MET 3331. There is a lab fee. This course is offered every fall. Credits: 3
