[Choice:HU] This course features lectures, readings, and discussions of the Western cultural heritage from the beginnings of civilization to 1715. The instruction includes discussion of the ancient civilizations of the Near East, Classical Greece and Rome, the development of Christianity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and Reformation in Europe, and the origins of the modern state system.
