This course offers a study of the design and use of basic letter forms. The instruction includes such topics as typographic contrast, and major type families and their characteristics. Students explore the expressive qualities of type and communications. After the preliminary introduction to type, appropriate projects to demonstrate the specific dynamics and interrelationships of type are assigned. Prerequisites & Notes There is a lab fee.
