[Choice:HU] This course focuses on the interpretation of cultural values inherent in the typical signs found in common genres of popular American movies. Comparing classic and contemporary examples of these genres, a semiotics approach highlights the cultural significance manifested in the artistic choices of filmmakers. Prerequisites & Notes The prerequisite is FLM 1055 or ENG 1052 or permission. There is a lab fee. This course is offered every odd-numbered fall. Credits: 3
