[Choice:HU] Focusing primarily but not exclusively on the modern era, this course explores the representations, ideas, and concerns of a variety of cultures through selected literary works that are considered significant by the culture that each embodies. Texts to be considered might include Kafka's The Metamorphosis and Achebe' s Things Fall Apart . The emphasis throughout will be on the ways in which the texts address issues of identity, gender, and cultural differences.Prerequisites & Notes The prerequisite is ENG 1052 or permission. This course?is required for English Secondary Education Licensure. This course is offered every?spring. Credits: 3
