The goals of this course include an understanding of the requirements specific to designing within the constraints of book publishing standards. During this course, the student learns to conceptualize and brainstorm for successful cover designs, write interior specifications for both design and print, produce multiplepage textbook layouts, explore various bindery options, and implement the details necessary for the production of book jackets, hard-bound, and soft-bound editions. Prerequisites & Notes The prerequisites are DGC 3111 and ENG 2020. There is a lab fee. This course is offered every odd-numbered fall. Credits: 3
