This course is designed to provide a historical, cultural, and geographic survey of sub-Saharan Africa, examining such topics as political systems, religion, marriage and family, and the crises of disease, war, and malnutrition. The course is taught from an anthropological perspective. Prerequisites & Notes The prerequisites are ANT 1030 or SOC 1010, and sophomore standing. This course is offered every even-numbered spring.
