3 semester credits Basic topics in organic chemistry and biochemistry; chemistry as it relates to the human body--functional groups, nomenclature, categories of compounds, and reactions, metabolism, cellular processes, nutrition, and foods. Prerequisite: High School Chemistry or CHEM 111. Second of a two-semester sequence for majors that do not require a strong background in chemistry. Includes lecture and laboratory hours. This course does meet the laboratory science requirement. Course Fee: $20.00
