Emphasis is placed upon the core concepts of database application development, data warehousing and data mining. Students will gain proficiency in Microsoft Access and be eligible for database specialization certifications. Using this software and the concepts learned will allow the students to apply database application development concepts to a real world type application. Students will then take this further by gaining an understanding of the value of data warehouses and data mining for use by decision support and business intelligence systems.
