This is an introductory course that explores the organization and workings of the global shipping industry. The emphasis is on the commercial and economic factors involved and how they impact the decision making process. It examines the supply/demand equation for maritime transportation, shipping cycles, shipping markets, ship fi nance, operating costs, regulatory agencies and market projections.
