Among the most important and popular of these works are: Frankenstein: The Modern Prometheus, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and Dracula. The literature of the supernatural provides a foundation from which to examine mankind's moral, social, and intellectual struggles or responsibilities within the context of our fascination with mystery, evil, and horror.
