This course will develop an understanding of the basic concepts of fusion joining of metals through lecture and hands-on welding practice, will familiarize students with various welding equipment, explain theories of welded joint design, expose students to multiple welding and cutting processes, provide a detailed explanation of welding electrode composition and application, inform students of the wide range of metallurgic properties of metals and the importance of proper base metal identifi cation, and provide information on welding certifi cation and the opportunity to be tested at the acquired level of skill.
