This course introduces the student to concepts, theories, and standards of nursing practice in today's evolving health care systems. Critical thinking is examined as a basis for decision-making in nursing and emphasis is placed on developing therapeutic nursing interventions and communication skills. Laboratory learning activities provide the student opportunities to practice and demonstrate skill proficiency in a simulated setting.
