This course provides a theoretical analysis of the resource allocation mechanism in a market economy, including consideration of the impacts of government policies on market outcomes. Students study the behavior of individual producers and consumers, the influence of market structure on the pricing and output decisions by firms, and the microeconomic foundations of competitive strategy.
