Strongly Recommended: PSYC 103-104 or consent of instructor. Three hours lecture. This course examines the psychological, biological, and social factors involved in the promotion and maintenance of health and the prevention and treatment of illness. Students learn about the interaction of mind and body while exploring such topics as nutrition and eating disorders; cancer and heart disease; chronic illness and pain management; AIDS; smoking and alcoholism; and stress and coping.
