An introduction to the use of natural remedies and personal responsibility as aids in promoting health, preventing disease, and facilitating recovery from illness. A variety of complementary and alternative therapies are discussed, including Ellen White's eight basic essentials to living. Critical thinking is used to explore evidence-based research on complementary and alternative therapies. Prerequisite: BIOL 119 and 129 or their transfer equivalents.
