A hands-on study of the Spanish language and culture related to health professions. Students gain familiarity with basic written and oral vocabulary for the assessment of Spanish-speaking patients in a variety of settings. A major component of the course is a service-oriented project in the community. Previous basic experience with the Spanish language is required. Prerequisites: placement exam; one semester of college-level Spanish.
