Techniques of voice, speech and the corresponding nonverbal channels that promote effective delivery skills. The course will focus on the enhancement of articulation, the study of regional and general American dialects, the elements of para-language related to voice (rate, volume, inflection and expressiveness) and the improvement of such nonverbal elements of delivery as eye contact, posture, facial expression and gestures. This course will be conducted as a communication laboratory in which in-class activities, assignments and taping will be utilized to improve oral communication skills. Not open to students who have taken SCS 302. 4 credits. N
