Description:
This course focuses on knowledge and skills related to interviewing, assessment, planning, contracting, goal-setting, ending and transitioning across client systems such as individuals, families, groups and communities. A multi-contextual (dimensional) framework is used to examine a wide range of factors (age, class, color, culture, disability, ethnicity, family structure, gender, marital status, etc.) that not only differentially influence behavior, but also contribute to increased understanding of the unique ways in which people and communities respond to life crises. Appropriate research-based knowledge is considered in relation to the content, process and outcomes of practice.
