PSY 3700 - The Adult Years:Continuity and Change

Institution:
Iona University
Subject:
Description:
This guided independent study course focuses on the adult years as a complex and extraordinarily variable process, rather than as an orderly sequence of predictable stages. A multidisciplinary approach is used to incorporate the various perspectives of current research. The course begins with a historical overview, and is then organized in concentric circles beginning with the individual's experience with self. A study of interpersonal relations within the family comes next and is followed by a consideration of the larger social context and the adult's experience as worker and learner.
