A study of the process of appraisal and evaluation of the chemical abuser and his/her family in order to determine the patient's needs. Emphasis will be placed on understanding behavioral and medical symptoms of drug and alcohol abuse and addiction and the tools needed to make the appropriate treatment referral. Treatment resources will be explored. Same course as DAA 3011. Prerequisite: PSY 3001 or DAA 3001 or permission of instructor. 4 credits. N
