This course will introduce the student to the process, methods, and concepts that engineers and scientists use in solving problems in addition to the fundamental concepts of life science and physical science. It is designed to develop the foundation for the scientific literacy necessary to understand technology's role in modern society. Basic scientific concepts underlying matter, energy, life and systems are introduced, and students engage in the development of reasoning and problem solving skills associated with scientific issues.
