This course provides an overview of the health counseling field including the role of psychological factors in the etiology and treatment of physical illness. Basic counseling theories are reviewed and related to health counseling interventions. Emphasis is placed on cognitive-behavorial treatment strategies pertaining to health maintenance, primary prevention and risk factor reduction. Same course as HEC 3101. 4 credits. N
